Project: The Pick & Carry saga
For this series of projects our customer is Manitex Valla, a company of the Manitex International group specialized in the production of pick & carry cranes. The historic company from Piacenza, founded in 1945, was the first company in the sector to recognize the need for a new crane for material handling by developing a new product between the forklift truck and the mobile cranes, thus bringing the first industrial self-propelled crane to the market.
Working with a customer with such extensive experience, market knowledge and enormous expertise has made the synergy created between our technical departments exciting and profitable.
Starting from the V80R model, the first made in collaboration with the company, we then continued with the design of other models in the V range.
All the projects began with style research that allowed us to explore the most varied shapes to be given to the carters and counterweights of the cranes. The chosen line was then used on all machines to create a new family feeling consistent throughout the range.
Our work then continued with the design and 3D modeling phase of the components. Also in this collaboration, Eping’s engineering and design departments worked in synergy with each other and with the customer, to deliver not only a crane with high performance compared to competitors, but also a product that takes into account the aesthetic factor and the optimization of costs and production times. The digital twin of the machine has allowed our engineers to perform all the checks imposed by European regulations, carrying out in parallel the FEM analyzes.
